A few days ago, I stopped to take photos of a pair of musicians who were performing on Edinburgh's street. Then I saw movement out of the corner of my eye. It was Esther of Contemporary Crickets, dancing.

Afterwards, Esther told me that she and her dance partner will be performing on Edinburgh's streets during this year's Fridge. During last year's festival, she danced for six hours a day, every day. By the end of the month, she had worn out all of her dance shoes, so performed with her feet wrapped in duct tape!

That story is one more reason why I'm in awe of dancers. They are artists and athletes of the highest calibre.
